Fast direct and dye-sublimation transfer printing in high quality up to 3.2m width
Superwide direct and dye-sublimation transfer printing up to 3,250mm with JV5-series. In addition to dye-sublimation printing using transfer paper it is possible to print directly on pre-treated polyester substrates.
A speed of 43.4 m²/h can be achieved in high image quality that is ensured by a resolution of 540 x 1,080 dpi for short distance viewing. Even higher productivity of up to 60 m²/h can be reached when printing at a resolution of 540 x 720 dpi that is ideal for medium distance viewing thus making JV5-320DS the ideal machine for print service providers to accelerate business growth and distance themselves of the competition.
High quality image and printing speed
JV5 Series enables high-quailty printing at incredible speed. It takes only 90 seconds to print 1 square meter (10.76sqft) at 540 x 1,080dpi. The secret behind it lies in "high speed heads" composed of 180 x 8 lines of nozzles and "array of 4 staggered print heads" accomplished by excellent technical capability of Mimaki. A lineup of 1,375mm (54.13") and 1,630mm (64.17") in size. The advent of incredible high speed and high image quality

High quality and high speed printing by the newly developed 4 staggered print heads.
The JV5 series, which has new print heads equipped with 1,440 nozzles (180 nozzles x 8 lines), features a print stroke of 4 inches (four time wider than the inline alignment) by arranging 4 one inch print heads in an array of four staggered lines. Through adopting variable dot technology, an amazing print speed of 40 /hr 430sq.ft/hr with a new high quality print mode of 540 x 1080dpi designed for short distance viewed graphics & photography.

3 stage intelligent
A 3 stage intelligent heater enhances both colour development and ink fixing by automatically heating the media.

Automatic nozzle checking
The status of ink-discharge from the printing head and any nozzle clogging is quickly detected and cleaned to reduce waste of both media and ink.

Media feed compensation
The media is fed evenly without being affected by the varying weight of the roll. This eliminates any banding caused by irregular feeding of the media so maintaining the highest print quality.

Head height adjustment
The thickness of the media is auto-sensed to enable the height of the head to be adjusted automatically for the correct head gap. Even when the thickness of the media is changed, printing is resumed with a constant head gap to always obtain the best printing result.

USB 2.0 interface
USB 2.0 interface enables high speed data transmission.

Ink catcher and plate
When printing directly the plate needs to be removed so that the strike through ink can be caught by the ink catcher and does not stain the backside of the media.

UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System)
The JV5 can utilize four cartridges per colour in 4-colour mode. When the ink cartridge runs out, another cartridge automatically begins to supply ink to prevent interruption of printing. A maximum of 1,760cc ink per colour can be loaded at one time. Ink cartridges can be replaced during printing and overnight continuous printing is possible.
Mimaki's own Sb52 ink
Mimaki's inks excel in high transparency and a wide color gamut that result in vivid, brilliant images representing highest picture quality. After printing heat treatment is necessary.
Automatic nozzle drop-out detection (optional)
Monitoring ink-discharging state from the printing head and ink clogging is quickly detected and cleaned, saving the waste of media and ink.
High volumes and lower ink costs MBIS (Mimaki Bulk Ink System)
The bulk ink system using exclusive ink packs achieves as stable and reliable ink ejection as printing solely with cartridges. It is possible to use both 2-liter ink packs in combination with regular 220/440cc cartridges for colors that are not so often used. In-end detection function to prevent misprints without ink is also available. The bulk ink system is an eco-friendly ink system that produces less waste while achieving continuous printing.
JV5 is equipped with both a heavy duty media feeding system and a convenient small take-up device
Media feeding and take-up devices securely feed heavy media up to 3,250mm (128") wide and 130kg (290lbs.) in weight with a tension bar to maintain constant media tension. A small take-up device which can adjust take-up tension is included. Both heavy and narrow media can be used with ease.

Smooth gradients with 16-bit rendering
Tonal jump or 'stepping' may appear in gradients when using only 8-bit rendering. RasterLink ProIII now using 16-bit rendering allows for ultra smooths gradients.
You can check the layout view, rotation, scaling up/down, mirror view and also the arrangement of multiple jobs. [more]
